GoKawiilSignify, the company behind Philips Hue and WiZ smart lights, is launching a new Sports Live feature that connects lighting effects to real-time live sports data. The new feature will arrive in time for the 2026 FIFA World Cup kickoff in June.

The company says the new Sports Live feature will start rolling out in May ahead of a full release in June. The feature will allow smart lights to react to in-game moments to create a more immersive viewing experience.
Sports Live uses live match data to trigger real-time lighting effects for key moments such as goals, red cards and yellow cards, extending the action beyond the screen and into the home. Easy to set up and arriving in time for the world’s biggest soccer event of the year, Sports Live makes watching soccer at home feel more immersive than ever.
Signify adds that users will be able to select a preferred team and assign color-changing lights to the Sports Live feature. From there, the feature will work automatically without the need for specialized hardware or connecting other services.
The feature will include the ability to time lighting effects for broadcast delays with the ability to pause and resume automatically. Signify further explains what to expect from smart lighting effects with Sports Live:
During quieter periods of play, the action remains engaging as home lighting systems intelligently adapt to the game state, displaying a favorite team’s color, the leading team’s color, or a warm white when the score is tied, creating a consistently personalized viewing experience.
Last month, Signify enhanced the smart lighting experience with the launch of a new immersive feature called SpatialAware. Signify also recently launched an upgraded Philips Hue Bridge Pro with even more capabilities.
