Apple has released iOS 26.5, bringing three key enhancements to your iPhone. The new software update also includes a colorful new wallpaper option and much more.
What’s new in iOS 26.5
“This update introduces for end-to-end encrypted RCS (beta) messaging and a downloadable Pride Luminance wallpaper, along with enhancements, bug fixes, and security updates for your iPhone,” according to Apple.
iOS 26.5 primarily focuses on three key changes for iPhone users:
End-to-end encrypted RCS messaging (beta) in Messages is available with supported carriers and will roll out over time.
Pride Luminance wallpaper that dynamically refracts a spectrum of colors, is available for download.
Suggested Places in Maps displays recommendations based on what’s trending nearby and your recent searches.
There’s more to iOS 26.5 than just the high-level features, though.
For example, later this summer, Apple Maps will start displaying ads in search results for users in the United States and Canada to start.
iOS 26.5 also supports new 12-month commitment with monthly payment options for App Store subscription. This first arrived in iOS 26.4 globally, but iOS 26.5 is required for customers in the United States.
