Completing the virtual activity challenge requires logging a running workout with at least 5K (3.1 miles) distance.

Global running Day Challenge participants can unlock a digital trophy as well as Fitness app stickers to mark the virtual event.

Four animated stickers include someone running in a dinosaur costume, a pair of people running together, someone running with their dog, and a colorful version of the 2026 Global Running Day Challenge award.

Apple Fitness+ adds a new Treadmill workout

In addition to today’s Global Running Day Challenge, Apple Fitness+ has added a new Treadmill workout in June that includes six all-out intervals lasting 30 seconds each.

The workout is from Fitness+ trainer Sherica Holman, who is joined by Danielle Burnett, “Big Girls Who Run” run club founder and Strava celebrated athlete.

Apple Fitness+ is available for $9.99/month or $79.99/year. It’s also included in the Apple One Premier bundle.
