Get the new macOS 27 Golden Gate wallpapers
Breaking with tradition, Apple didn’t name macOS 27 after a national park, lake, or other natural landmark. Instead, this year’s release is named after San Francisco’s iconic Golden Gate Bridge.
Apple is also doing something a little different with this year’s stock wallpapers. Rather than giving each platform a completely distinct look, iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 Golden Gate use variations of the same artwork, featuring curved shapes that form a stylized “27.” As usual, the wallpapers are available in both light and dark versions.
Although macOS 27 Golden Gate ships with dynamic wallpapers, those can only be used through the system itself. The good news is that you can already get the full-resolution static versions of the light and dark wallpapers below:
Be sure to click the images and save the full-resolution versions. To set either as your background image, go to ‘System Settings’ > ‘Wallpaper’, scroll down to ‘Your Photos’, click the ‘Add Photo’ button, then do any of the following:
Add a photo from your Photos library: Click Choose from Photos, then select a photo.
Add an image file: Click Choose File, select a file, then click Open. You can also drag an image from your desktop or a folder onto the thumbnail at the top of Wallpaper settings.
Add a folder from the Finder: Click Choose Folder, select a folder, then click Open.
Add an album or folder from the Photos app: Select an album or folder under Photo Sets.
