Latest AirPods firmware arrives, likely focused on bug fixes

Last week Apple released new firmware for AirPods Pro 3 and more, with the first official support for iOS 27’s new features. But the new firmware was limited to beta users.

Today, however, a new firmware update has been released for all users of AirPods Pro 3 and AirPods Pro 2.

The latest AirPods firmware has build number 8B41.

Apple’s last public firmware build was 8B40, which released in April with bug fixes. However, that release was exclusive to AirPods Pro 3, while today’s new version is available for more devices.

No details have yet been revealed about what’s changed in the latest firmware. But Apple is expected to update this page in the next day or so with release notes.

For most firmware updates, the release notes simply say: “Bug fixes and other improvements.”
