Brazilian users can now download AltStore PAL on their iPhones, as Apple has officially enabled alternative app marketplaces as part of a broader set of changes to the app distribution and payment rules in the country. Here are the details.
AltStore PAL now available in Brazil
Following months of preparations and a years-long regulatory battle in Brazil, Apple has now enabled alternative app marketplaces in the country.
As a result, Brazilian users can officially install AltStore PAL on their iPhones, and even set it as their default marketplace under Settings > Apps > App Installation.
Update: To celebrate the launch, AltStore is offering 1 month of free access to their Patreon for users.
Once installed, Brazilian users can explore AltStore’s app catalog by category, including Games, Photo & Video, and Utilities, and can further expand the storefront by adding other sources.
How to install AltStore PAL
If you’re physically located in Brazil, here are AltStore’s official steps to install AltStore PAL. Make sure you are using Safari, signed into a Brazilian App Store account, and your device is running iOS 26.5 or later:
1. Tap “Download” [on the button on https://altstore.io/download] and a “Marketplace Installation” alert will appear asking you to allow downloads from AltStore LLC 2. Open the Settings app and there will be a new option, “Allow Marketplace From AltStore LLC” at the top under your Apple ID. Select “Allow” 3. Return to [https://altstore.io/download], tap “Download” again, and another prompt to install will then appear. Select “Install App Marketplace”
With today’s launch, Brazil joins Japan and the European Union as regions where alternative app marketplaces are allowed on iOS.
