Why This Matters

Meta’s new smart glasses charging stand offers a convenient and stylish way to keep compatible models charged and on display at home or work. This accessory enhances user experience by providing a dedicated, easy-to-use charging station, reflecting Meta’s focus on integrating wearable tech seamlessly into daily life. Its affordability and compatibility with popular Ray-Ban models make it an attractive addition for consumers seeking functional and aesthetic tech accessories.

Meta launched a stand accessory that lets you display the company’s smart glasses on your desk or nightstand while they’re being recharged. The new Charging Stand is listed at $59 on Meta’s website — $30 less than the charging case for Meta’s non-Ray-Ban glasses — and resembles a metal tube with a groove you can slot the glasses into while charging.

The Meta Charging Stand isn’t compatible with Meta Ray-Ban Display or Oakley Meta Vanguard glasses models, but several models are supported — including the Wayfarer, Skylar, and Headliner Ray-Ban models, and Meta’s new, more affordable smart glasses lineup. Delivery estimates for orders are showing as Thursday, June 25th when I add the charging stand to my basket.

The metal shell is made from stainless steel, and it features a silicone rubber footpad on the bottom to help prevent it from sliding around on desktop surfaces. It’s just shy of two inches tall, and weighs 108 grams (roughly the same as a bar of soap), so it would be pretty easy to accidentally nudge otherwise. There’s also an LED light at the top of the stand that turns orange while your glasses are charging, and then green when fully charged.

You can fully charge your Meta glasses in just over an hour, or quickly charge to 50 percent in about 20 minutes, according to Meta. Unlike the portable charging case, this new stand option requires a constant USB-C connection to charge, so it’s designed to live in a specific area of your home rather than something for on-the-go power.
