GoKawiilApple’s System Status page says two outages are affecting Apple Maps right now, one affecting search and the other affecting routing and navigation. Here are the details.
According to Apple’s System Status page, the two outages started at 4:47 p.m. ET. In both cases, Apple says
Some users are affected
Users are experiencing a problem with Maps. We are investigating and will update the status as more information becomes available.
That is the second outage in 24 hours, as both Apple Maps Search and Apple Maps Routing & Navigation had a two-hour outage last night, lasting from 6:23 p.m. ET through 8:23 P.M. ET.
While there is no easy way to check which territories are affected, 9to5Mac checked Apple’s Status Page in several countries, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, and Japan, and found the same issues in each.
Apple has not said how long the outage is expected to last or provided any details beyond the notice above. We will continue monitoring the situation and update this post when the issue is resolved or Apple shares more information.
