An Xbox VP who spent 37 years at Microsoft was among those laid off yesterday

The gaming division terminated 1,600 staffers on Monday and plans to let go of an additional 1,600 by July 2027. Microsoft announced yesterday it would lay off 4,800 staffers, including 1,600 roles that were eliminated from its Xbox division yesterday. An additional 1,600 roles will be eliminated at Xbox through the fiscal year.
