The country’s largest retailer joins Costco, Target, and others in reducing prices on items like household essentials, seasonal summer items, and Coca-Cola. Walmart announced Monday it would lower prices on thousands of products, including beef, laundry detergent, Coca-Cola, household items, and other seasonal summer items. The price cuts will go into effect in stores and online at Walmart and Sam’s Club. The discounts will reach up to 50% or more off marked prices. A pound of ground beef is down from $6.74 to $5.94; corn on the cob is down $0.25 each from $0.68; a bag of red cherries is down from $11.18 to $5.63; and Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, and Coca-Cola Zero Sugar 24-packs are now $8.97, down from $9.97.
