Leaker says iPhone 17 lineup getting two new screen changes

Two months from now, Apple is expected to unveil its new flagship iPhone lineup, including iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. And today, a leaker has shared two screen changes that may be coming to various new models.

Today in a new post on Weibo, leaker Digital Chat Station has shared a variety of expectations for the upcoming iPhone 17 line.

Many of the details have been reported before, but there are two interesting new details that stand out most—both relating to iPhone 17 screens.

Per the post:

All iPhone 17 models will have thin bezels, not just the Pro models like last year and there’s a new Dynamic Island UI coming

The first of these is understandable. Last year Apple gave its Pro models brand new display sizes, and along with them reduced the bezels more than ever.

This year, the base iPhone 17 is getting the same, larger 6.3-inch display that debuted in the iPhone 16 Pro last year. So it makes sense that the new display would enable similarly reduced bezels.

And the iPhone 17 Air is a brand new flagship model, with a unique screen size, so including thinner bezels also makes sense for it.

Where Digital Chat Station’s post is especially confusing, though, is regarding the Dynamic Island rumor.

For starters, the leaker’s track record shows expertise in hardware, not software features. The term UI, however, seems to reference software.
