OpenAI makes two GPT-5.6 models cheaper, expanding usage in ChatGPT

OpenAI is making two of its GPT-5.6 models more affordable today, and the benefits extend beyond API customers.

OpenAI has three GPT-5.6 models:

Sol, OpenAI’s flagship model

Terra, their balanced model for everyday work

Luna, their fast and affordable model

Starting today, the cost of the medium Terra model is dropping 20%, and the cost of the smaller Luna model is dropping 80% compared to the initial prices set earlier this month.

Here’s the new pricing for API customers:

$2 per million input tokens and $12 per million output tokens for Terra

$0.20 per million input tokens and $1.20 per million output tokens for Luna
