Why This Matters

Apple's upcoming September event promises to introduce eight new products, including a foldable iPhone, new iPhone 18 Pro models, updated Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, and new smart home devices. These launches highlight Apple's focus on expanding its foldable device lineup and strengthening its smart home ecosystem, signaling significant advancements for consumers and the industry alike.

Key Takeaways

We’re one month out from Apple’s big September event, and a new Bloomberg report outlines eight new products likely to be announced.

Here are the new products expected at September event, per Mark Gurman

Mark Gurman, writing this weekend in his Power On newsletter:

As for the actual products set to be unveiled, the main attraction will be the foldable iPhone…Also on the agenda: the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, along with the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4. Everything I’ve heard indicates that the new Apple TV set-top box and HomePod mini will be ready this fall too, so these would make sense for a September debut. And let’s not forget Apple’s first smart home hub, which is slated for a release between October and early next year. A September preview of that product is plausible.

Per Gurman’s expectations, then, Apple has eight new products likely to be unveiled next month:

He adds that a revamped iPad mini is coming this fall too, but groups it with products expected in October—like the M6 MacBook Pro.

The list above is largely what we’ve been expecting based on rumors and Apple’s history.

Apple always launches new iPhone and Apple Watch models together. And kicking off its major new smart home push at the same event makes sense too.

The September event gets more attention than any other product announcement. So if Apple wants to put a big spotlight on new Home products, this is a great time to do so. Also, smart home products are often seen as iPhone accessories, making them a good fit for the iPhone event.

Not mentioned by Gurman are new AirPods with cameras, a third-generation HomePod, or a security camera. All of those products have been reported on by Gurman before and could similarly fit in well at the September event.
