Why This Matters

The leak of the Pixel Buds Pro 2 in the new 'Olive' color highlights Google's ongoing strategy to diversify device aesthetics and align with new Pixel phone colors, appealing to consumers seeking personalized and coordinated tech accessories. This update underscores the importance of color options in consumer electronics, influencing purchasing decisions and brand identity in a competitive market.

Key Takeaways

TL;DR A new leak provides marketing material for a new Pixel Buds Pro 2 colorway.

The new color is reportedly called “Olive.”

Sony recently unveiled a new colorway for the WH-1000XM6 called Olive Gray. The new tone is a muted green shade that fits in nicely with the rest of the collection. Sony’s headphones won’t be the only audio device getting the green treatment, apparently. A leak has revealed a new colorway coming to the Pixel Buds Pro 2.

On Bluesky, WinFuture’s Roland Quandt shared the following images. These images appear to be marketing material for a new Pixel Buds Pro 2 color that could be announced at Made by Google tomorrow. According to Quandt, the color variant will be called “Olive.”

Just as Google has done in the past, this color looks like it was added to match one of the new Pixel 11 colors. Thanks to earlier leaks, we know Google is cooking up two green color options, one for the base model and the other for the Pros. It’s believed that the Pixel 11’s green colorway will be called “Moss” and the colorway for the Pro models could be called “Pine.”

The leaked images also contain information such as active noise cancelation (ANC), Silent Seal 2.0, Find Hub compatibility, and more. However, there’s nothing new about these earbuds compared to the current Pixel Buds Pro 2, other than the new color. Once rolled out, Olive will join Moonstone, Porcelain, Peony, and Hazel as the fifth color option.
