GoKawiilTL;DR Google has introduced a new “Extreme Charging Mode” across the Pixel 11 lineup, designed to focus device performance strictly on charging for fast battery boosts.
The company hasn’t shared specifics on how this mode works or how much charge you can expect before your phone throttles its charging speed.
Standard battery charging times (wired) remain largely unchanged, though all Pixel 11 models now support 25W Qi2.2 wireless charging.
Google Pixel phones aren’t the fastest-charging phones out there, but the company has made some progress over the years, ensuring its phones aren’t at the bottom of the pack, at least. With the new Pixel 11 series, Google is blessing the phones with a new Extreme Charging Mode.
Google hasn’t shared details yet, but it says you can turn on Extreme Charging Mode to “focus your phone’s performance entirely on powering up.” This way, users can get an “ultra-fast boost” when they need it the most. We’ll be putting all the phones through their paces to figure out what this mode does exactly, and just how much of a difference it would make to the wired charging experience.
Note that the vanilla Pixel 11 has a slightly larger battery than last year, while the Pixel 11 Pro, 11 Pro XL, and 11 Pro Fold see a drop in battery capacity.
