This feature has been available on Pixel phones for a while now, but it’s since arrived on the Samsung Galaxy S26 series. Now, we’ve uncovered evidence that this tech is likely coming to another Android phone maker.

We conducted a teardown of the Phone by Google app (234.0.9) and found evidence that vivo could be next to support Scam Detection functionality. Check out our screenshots below. The term “Sharpie” is an internal codename for the Scam Detection feature.
Vivo’s name joins Samsung and Google’s Pixel line here. Combined with the Sharpie mention, it certainly looks like vivo is next in line to get Scam Detection capabilities.
There’s no word on which vivo devices will support this functionality, but it’s possible that the company could debut this option on the rumored vivo X500 series. I’m also hoping that this would come to the vivo X300 series thereafter.
