Shares of Home Depot are 2% higher this morning after the home improvement retailer beat analysts' top- and bottom-line expectations for the second quarter. The company also reaffirmed its guidance for the 2026 fiscal year as it operates in what CFO Richard McPhail called "'frozen housing market' conditions." McPhail said that tariff refunds will help Home Depot "maintain value" as the returned cash partially counteracts other costs pressures. Home Depot kicks off a big week for retailer reports in an otherwise quiet period for corporate earnings. Lowe's and Target report tomorrow, followed by Walmart on Thursday.

About one in four prediction market traders believe the deal won't happen by July 2027, an increase from before the AGs filed their suit.
