tvOS 26 beta 3 is now available for developers, debuting one day after Apple has released a variety of new beta software for its other platforms.
Later this year, Apple is expected to ship its first new Apple TV 4K hardware in three years.
tvOS 26 includes some key changes that hint at that new hardware getting a built-in camera.
But whether you buy a new Apple TV box this year or not, tvOS 26 will still offer a variety of upgrades for you.
New features include:
Liquid Glass redesign
overhaul to the Apple TV app
brand new aerial screensavers (plus a handy option to curate them)
karaoke using your iPhone
easier profile selection
FaceTime enhancements and more
The vast majority of these changes will be supported on all Apple TV devices.
However, a couple noteworthy additions will be limited to recent Apple TV 4K hardware. And yes, it’s always possible Apple will reserve additional tvOS 26 features for its forthcoming product launch.
Today’s beta 3 of tvOS 26 might include additional features and changes, too.
Since there’s still plenty of time before Apple’s big fall launch season, we may continue seeing additional small features and revisions.
If you’re interested in trying tvOS 26, a public beta version will arrive some time in July.
Until then, the latest developer beta is your next best option. Be aware, though, that you may encounter various system bugs and performance issues installing beta software.
