A new report from Bloomberg today outlines what people inside Apple who have used the iPhone Ultra love about it.
iPhone Ultra is coming: Real-world impressions
In the latest edition of his Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman offers a detailed recap of the foldable iPhone. In particular, he says he has “spoken to several people” who have used the device. Those people say they like these things in particular:
How well it fits in a pocket. Rumors say it has a 5.5-inch outer display. The durability of the hinge. The new “iPad-like app layouts” that take full advantage of the inner display, which reports suggest measures around 7.8 inches and is wider than it is tall. How well it serves as a “camera viewfinder.”
Multiple reports suggest the iPhone Ultra will cost upwards of $2,000. It’s expected to have a main camera and an ultra-wide camera, but not a telephoto camera. It will reportedly use Touch ID instead of Face ID for biometric authentication.

I’m incredibly excited for iPhone Ultra, and these tidbits from Gurman only make me even more optimistic it’s the device for me.
I was originally skeptical of the foldable iPhone’s form factor. However, as we’ve learned more about the specific size and its benefits, I’ve come around to it.
The positive reviews of Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z Fold 8 have also offered great real-world insight into a very similar form factor to the iPhone Ultra.
