We’ve seen a bunch of OnePlus 16 leaks over the last couple of months, and with each one, the upcoming Android flagship looks more and more promising. Following leaks of a 9,000mAh battery and a true 165Hz display, a new leak suggests the phone’s screen could be excellent in both performance and looks.
According to a Weibo post by leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS), the OnePlus 16 will come with the thinnest bezels on any OnePlus phone so far and a display experience to match. The leak doesn’t state exactly how thin the bezels could be, but states they will be “around this narrow 🤏.”
The OnePlus 16 will come with a custom-designed screen and will offer a crystal-clear viewing experience, per the leak. What DCS means by “crystal-clear” is unclear (pun intended) right now, but the phone could offer a high resolution to go with its 165Hz refresh rate. OnePlus 16 design leaks suggest a 6.78-inch display with ultra-narrow bezels on all sides.
Today’s leak also reiterates that the phone will use the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite series chip, likely the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, according to previous DCS leaks.
The OnePlus 16 is also tipped to have a rear design similar to the OnePlus 15, featuring a small square matrix camera island. However, the leaker now says the phone could also have one of the best front-facing designs. The ultra-narrow, symmetrical bezels, the high-refresh-rate screen, and the “crystal-clear” viewing experience could all play a major role in making this a reality.
The OnePlus 16 is expected to launch sometime in October with a 200MP camera, 8GB of RAM in its base variant, and a starting price of 4,999 Chinese yuan (~$740). So far, all the leaks seem to suggest it will be an excellent Android flagship, which makes it all the more sad that it won’t come to the US, given the company’s departure from the country.
