Apple launched two new products today—Mac mini and Mac Studio—but three more Macs are rumored to arrive this fall. Here’s what’s coming.
M6 MacBook Pro
Apple’s base model 14-inch MacBook Pro is reportedly getting an M6 update this fall. It’s expected to launch in October, right about one year after last year’s M5 model debuted.
The new MacBook Pro will have the same design as the current model. Externally, there will be little to no discernible difference. Internally though, the M6 chip that was just unveiled today will enable big performance and efficiency gains.
M6 is built with a state-of-the-art 2-nanometer process and has “a larger 12-core CPU complex with the world’s fastest CPU core, a larger 12-core GPU with Neural Accelerators, a Dual 16-core Neural Engine, and up to 170GB/s of unified memory bandwidth.”
MacBook Pro / MacBook Ultra: New design, touchscreen, more
Apple has a new high-end MacBook coming soon that might be branded MacBook Pro or possibly MacBook Ultra. It will be powered by M5 Pro and M5 Max.
The new MacBook will offer several innovations not seen in the Mac before, including a touchscreen, OLED, Dynamic Island, and more. It will also have a brand new industrial design that’s thinner and lighter than the current MacBook Pro.
We’re expecting a launch in October, but the release could potentially slip into early 2027 instead.
