Unveiled at IFA 2026, the Archer 8 Ultra BN19000 is a tri-band router rated for aggregate wireless speeds of 19Gbps. It packs 18 internal antennas, 10Gbps wired connectivity, and claimed coverage of a 3,600-square-foot home. Its redesigned enclosure is intended to be shown off on a shelf, rather than being hidden somewhere that restricts its signal.

"What users actually care about is consistency," said Jeff Barney, president of TP-Link Systems. "Archer 8 is designed to deliver exactly that."

For larger homes, the Deco 8 Ultra BN22000 offers up to 22Gbps of wireless bandwidth and 10Gbps Ethernet. TP-Link says a three-unit system can cover 9,800 square feet and support more than 200 devices. European models are rated at 19Gbps. Those are manufacturer figures, so real-world testing will tell the whole story.

Both products use TP-Link's "StabilityEngine," a collection of Wi-Fi 8 technologies designed to improve edge coverage, manage congestion, and limit interference. Dynamic Sub-band Operation allocates bandwidth by device, while Non-Primary Channel Access can use another channel when the primary one is busy. Enhanced Long Range and Distributed Resource Units are intended to strengthen connections from distant or low-power devices.

TP-Link's internal testing claimed up to 33% higher throughput than comparable Wi-Fi 7 hardware through enhanced modulation and coding, plus 24% from unequal modulation. It also reported up to 15% better throughput between access points under heavy interference, a 30% signal gain across floors with one device, and 10% to 20% with several.

As noted when TP-Link revealed its roadmap in May, Wi-Fi 8 – formally IEEE 802.11bn – prioritizes Ultra High Reliability rather than dramatically raising theoretical peak speed.

The standard remains a draft and is not expected to be finalized until 2028. Vendors can build against the current specification and handle smaller changes through firmware, although early hardware may not support every final feature.

Selected regions can pre-order the Archer 8 Ultra from September 30, with pricing still unannounced. The Deco 8 is scheduled for Q1 2027, followed by the Roam 8 travel router, range extenders, and adapters in Q2.

Whether those dates apply to the US remains unclear. The FCC added foreign-produced consumer routers to its Covered List in March, blocking authorization of new models without conditional approval from the Department of War or Homeland Security. Existing routers are unaffected, but TP-Link remains absent from the latest exemption list.
