Why This Matters

The expansion of SpaceXAI's Grok Bot to iPad and Android devices, along with significant price reductions, marks a major step in making advanced AI tools more accessible and affordable for a broader range of consumers and enterprises. This move enhances user flexibility and competitiveness in the AI market, potentially accelerating adoption across various platforms and industries.

Key Takeaways

Last month, SpaceXAI launched Grok Bot, an iMessage-style AI system that displays agents as teammates. The product originally arrived as an iPhone and Mac app with a very expensive price tag. In the weeks since launch, Grok Bot has expanded to the iPad and dramatically lowered the cost.

Like a lot of AI services, Grok Bot started with the Mac and included an iPhone app. This week, SpaceXAI has expanded Grok Bot to two more platforms: Android and iPad.

The tablet version comes as Grok Bot adds enterprise support. For Grok and Cursor enterprise customers, Grok Bot is actually free for the next couple of weeks.

Meanwhile, the price to try Grok Bot (beyond a free trial period) has dramatically come down over the last few weeks.

The AI agent system initially required a $300/month subscription. Now Grok Bot works with Cursor Pro, a $20/month plan, making it comparable to other starter AI subscription services.

SpaceXAI recently acquired Cursor, which has helped it become more competitive in the AI space after falling behind.
