Here’s what Sonos says is new and coming soon with Sonos 27 software
Following the example of iOS 27 and others, Sonos is moving to a ‘Sonos 27’ naming scheme for its software platform.
Today via a new app update on the App Store, Sonos 27 has officially arrived. How do you know if your hardware is compatible? Sonos says it’s available for “all Sonos S2 products,” though feature availability can vary by product.
Here’s what’s available now, per Sonos:
Portable Surrounds: ”Two of the same portable Sonos speakers (Move 2 or Sonos Play) can become rear surrounds when paired with a compatible soundbar, then return to their original role when moved, giving existing hardware more utility without a dedicated home theater setup.”
