GoKawiilSuno launches v6 AI model built on licensed music from Warner, BMG and Believe
Suno introduced its new v6 model family, trained entirely on licensed music data from partners including Warner Music Group, BMG and Believe, replacing the data used to build earlier versions. The lineup includes a standard v6 model, an experimental 'wild' version, and a faster 'mini' model for free users, with older models set to be phased out. New editing tools let users tweak lyrics, isolate instruments, and use text, images or video as creative references.

The shift to licensed training data marks a direct response to mounting copyright lawsuits from major labels, following Suno's settlement with Warner and licensing deal with BMG. By building in opt-in remix programs and revenue-sharing plans for artists, Suno is trying to position itself as a legitimate partner to the music industry rather than an infringer, a move that could reshape how AI music tools coexist with rights holders going forward.
- Suno v6 is trained solely on licensed data from Warner Music Group, BMG and Believe.
- The release follows lawsuits and settlements over copyright infringement claims against Suno's earlier models.
- New features aim to create artist opt-in revenue streams through AI-assisted remixes and derivative works.
