GoKawiilApple's iPhone Duo foldable trades camera power for dual-screen flexibility
Apple has launched the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, and its first foldable device, the iPhone Duo, alongside each other. The Duo offers a 5.4-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch inner folding screen with a nano-texture finish, letting users switch between phone and tablet-sized experiences, while the 18 Pro models stick to a traditional single-screen design in 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch sizes. Despite its slimmer profile, the Duo weighs more than even the largest Pro Max, and its camera setup lags behind the Pro line's newer 48MP hardware.

This marks Apple's formal entry into the foldable market, a segment long dominated by Samsung and other Android makers, signaling the company sees enough consumer demand to justify the engineering tradeoffs. The comparison shows Apple isn't positioning the Duo as an outright upgrade but as a different use case, meaning buyers must choose between best-in-class cameras or a new dual-screen form factor rather than getting both.
- iPhone Duo is Apple's first foldable, pairing a 5.4-inch outer screen with a 7.6-inch inner display.
- Despite being foldable, the Duo weighs more than the iPhone 18 Pro Max at 254 grams.
- Camera performance remains a clear advantage for the iPhone 18 Pro over the Duo.
