WASHINGTON (Sept. 9, 2026) — The National Transportation Safety Board is providing the following update on its investigation into the Sept. 6 runway excursion accident involving 21 Air Flight 7598, a Boeing 767-33A cargo airplane, at Miami International Airport.
The following information from the cockpit voice recorder (CVR) and flight data recorder (FDR) is preliminary and subject to change.
The NTSB recovered the CVR and FDR from the accident site and transported them to the NTSB’s Vehicle Recorder Laboratory in Washington, DC, where they were successfully read out.
The aircraft was equipped with an Acron Aviation (formerly L3Harris) model FA2100 CVR and an Ontic (formerly Honeywell) model SSFDR FDR.
The CVR contained more than 2 hours of good quality audio across four channels.
The FDR contained approximately 54 hours of data and recorded more than 400 parameters.
