GoKawiilModder Enables Nvidia's RTX 50-Series Multi Frame Generation on RTX 40-Series GPUs
A modder known as dashdogy has released a workaround that unlocks Nvidia's DLSS Multi Frame Generation feature, normally exclusive to RTX 50-series cards, on older RTX 40-series and earlier GPUs. Tom's Hardware tested the mod in Cyberpunk 2077 and confirmed it genuinely boosts perceived smoothness beyond the officially supported 2X multiplier, complete with the same visual artifacts seen on official 50-series hardware.

With graphics card prices climbing and upgrades increasingly unaffordable, this mod gives owners of aging RTX 40-series cards a way to access a marquee smoothness feature without buying new hardware. It also highlights how software-locked features can be reverse-engineered, potentially pressuring Nvidia's product segmentation strategy between GPU generations.
- Modder dashdogy unlocked RTX 50-series-exclusive Multi Frame Generation on RTX 40-series cards.
- Testing in Cyberpunk 2077 confirmed real smoothness gains and matching visual artifacts as official hardware.
- The mod could extend the usefulness of older GPUs amid rising graphics card prices.
LG UltraGear 27GR83Q 240Hz Gaming Monitor — Multi Frame Generation only pays off if your display can actually show all those extra frames, and a 240Hz QHD panel like LG's UltraGear gives that headroom. It's a great pairing for an RTX 40-series card you're planning to keep for a few more years instead of upgrading.
