Why This Matters

Anthropic is simplifying its product lineup by merging Claude Cowork back into the main Claude chat interface, creating a single, more capable assistant rather than splitting agentic productivity tasks into a separate app. This move, alongside the launch of Claude Docs, signals Anthropic's push to compete more directly with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office by embedding document, slide, and design creation directly into its core AI product.

Inside the new one-stop shop, users will be able to access Claude Design and generate slides, which Anthropic said you can “present straight from Claude, or download as PowerPoint or PDF.” Docs, Slides, and Design in the new Claude are in beta for paid plans.
