Here’s how Apple will use iPhone 18 Pro during this week’s Friday Night Baseball broadcast
Last fall, iPhone 17 Pro made history by being the first model ever used as part of a professional live sports broadcast. Four iPhone 17 Pro devices helped capture unique angles of the game, leading the National Baseball Hall of Fame to add one of the iPhones used to its New York collection.
Now on the heels of iPhone 18 Pro’s launch, Apple plans to go even further with Friday Night Baseball this week.
Tomorrow night, September 18 at 7:15 p.m. PT, the final Friday Night Baseball broadcast of the season will employ 14 different iPhone 18 Pro devices as the San Francisco Giants take on the Los Angeles Dodgers.
iPhone 18 Pro models will be embedded throughout Dodger Stadium, including within the pitch clock, backstop, foul pole, and both bullpens, bringing unique perspectives to viewers that standard broadcast cameras could have trouble capturing.
Eight of the 14 total iPhone 18 Pro devices will use a dedicated T-Mobile Private 5G Network to enable live footage to flow into the broadcast in real time. In addition to the live gameplay, iPhone 18 Pro will capture moments from batting practice, player introductions, dugout perspectives, and more.
Friday Night Baseball is free for all Apple TV subscribers.
