The iPhone 18 Pro series has barely made it out the door, but we’re already getting our first clues about what Apple could be planning for next year’s iPhone. And if this leak is accurate, Apple might be preparing a much bigger visual change.
According to leaker Digital Chat Station on Weibo, Apple is testing new displays for what could eventually become the iPhone 20 Pro and iPhone 20 Pro Max. The smaller model reportedly has a 6.41-inch panel with a 2,686 x 1,236 resolution, while the Pro Max could stretch to 6.96 inches at 2,912 x 1,340.
Those numbers aren’t particularly exciting on their own. What caught our attention is what Apple may be doing around those displays. The leak claims Apple is testing a bezel-less (borderless), quad-curved design, meaning the screen could curve slightly toward the frame on all four sides. There’s also reportedly a punch-hole screen cutout in the works.
Digital Chat Station hasn’t shared an image showing what this prototype actually looks like, so we don’t know how dramatic those curves will be. However, leaker Ice Universe reposted the information on X alongside an image imagining what such an iPhone could look like. It isn’t a leaked photo of Apple’s hardware, so don’t treat it as one, but it does make the idea much easier to picture.
And honestly, it looks pretty slick. Imagine looking at your phone straight on and seeing almost nothing except the display, with the edges seemingly disappearing into the frame. Watching a movie, playing a game, or even scrolling through Instagram could feel more immersive when there’s no border around everything.
