GoKawiilSpotify expands Music Quiz feature to over 2,000 artists in 11 countries
Spotify has broadened its Music Quiz feature beyond its initial BTS trial from March to cover more than 2,000 artists, available to Premium subscribers aged 18 and over. The quiz appears as a card under the Now Playing screen, offering Easy, Medium and Hard questions, a final score, and the ability to challenge friends. The rollout currently spans the US, UK, Australia, Canada, India, Indonesia, Ireland, New Zealand, Nigeria, Singapore and South Africa.
GoKawiil's interpretation of the reporting above, not reported fact.
The expansion suggests Spotify is leaning further into gamification and social features to boost engagement among Premium subscribers, building on the limited BTS test earlier this year. Restricting the feature to paying adult users could also serve as an incentive for free-tier listeners to upgrade, though Spotify has not stated that goal explicitly. Broader language and artist support over time may determine how central this feature becomes to the app experience.
- Music Quiz now covers 2,000+ artists, up from a single BTS trial in March.
- Available only to Premium subscribers aged 18+ in 11 specified countries.
- Quiz difficulty scales up, with scores shareable for friend challenges.
