GoKawiilLeaked renders reveal Apple-LG smart lock, thermostat and sensor
A leaker who goes by pdfu has posted renders and specs for three smart home devices reportedly co-developed by Apple and LG: a rotating-keypad smart deadbolt lock, a circular smart thermostat, and a magnetic temperature/humidity sensor. The devices are expected to be formally unveiled next week, and reports suggest the lineup will also include doorbell and camera products, all branded under LG rather than Apple.
GoKawiil's interpretation of the reporting above, not reported fact.
The leaked details suggest Apple is expanding its smart home ambitions through hardware partnerships rather than building its own branded devices, letting LG absorb manufacturing and retail branding while Apple likely supplies software or ecosystem integration. If confirmed, this could signal Apple's broader strategy for competing with Google and Amazon in home automation without the overhead of designing its own smart home hardware lineup.
