GoKawiilTextExpander launches a free plan with 5 active Snippets across platforms
TextExpander now offers a free tier that includes unlimited library storage, unlimited text expansions, and up to 5 team members, alongside 5 active Snippets. The plan syncs across Mac, iPhone, iPad, Windows, and Chrome, and allows one active Snippet to be swapped every two weeks.
GoKawiil's interpretation of the reporting above, not reported fact.
Offering a free tier could lower the barrier for new users to try TextExpander before committing to a paid plan, potentially widening its user base as native OS text-replacement tools improve. The swap restriction suggests the company is trying to balance accessibility with incentives to upgrade to paid tiers for heavier users.
- TextExpander's free plan includes 5 active Snippets and unlimited expansions.
- The free tier works across Mac, iPhone, iPad, Windows, and Chrome with synced libraries.
- Active Snippets can only be swapped once every two weeks on the free plan.
