GoKawiilAmazon unveils Alexa-powered digital photo frame for holiday season
Amazon introduced its first digital picture frame, the Alexa Photo Frame, at a New York launch event alongside several new Echo-based devices. The 10-inch frame syncs with Amazon Photos, automatically selects what it considers the best images, and lets users ask Alexa to pull up photos of specific people, places or events. Prime members get unlimited photo storage, and the frame includes a light sensor that adjusts brightness and comes in birch or walnut wood casing.

The frame's voice-command photo retrieval appears to be a new approach among smart picture frames, which could set it apart from AI-curation competitors like SwitchBot's recent model, according to CNET's hands-on preview. Bundling unlimited storage with Prime membership may also be an incentive for Amazon to deepen subscriber engagement ahead of the holiday shopping season, though actual performance of its photo-curation feature remains untested.
