Adding a camera to its flagship speaker suggests Amazon is pushing Alexa toward more visual, multimodal interactions and positioning Echo Studio as a hub for video calling via Fire TV. Folding smart-home hub and Wi-Fi extension capabilities into the cheaper Echo Dot could make it a more central device in connected homes, potentially deepening reliance on Amazon's ecosystem.
