GoKawiilGoogle rolls out new sparkling Gemini overlay animation to all Android phones
Google has begun pushing an updated Gemini overlay design to all Android devices via a Google app update, following its earlier debut on Pixel 11 phones. The refresh applies Google's Neural Expressive design language, adding sparkle effects and small dots around the Ask Gemini text box, plus shaded, more three-dimensional edges on the box, particularly visible in dark mode.
GoKawiil's interpretation of the reporting above, not reported fact.
Extending the redesign beyond Pixel hardware suggests Google wants a consistent visual identity for Gemini across its entire Android user base rather than treating it as a flagship-only feature. The visual polish could be part of a broader push to make Gemini feel more central and premium within Android, following similar animation updates to Circle to Search and Gemini Live.
