Nothing has begun distributing its stable Nothing OS 5.0 update, based on Android 17, to the Phone 3a, Phone 3a Pro, Phone 4a, and Phone 4a Pro, weeks ahead of its planned November rollout. The update follows an earlier release for the Phone 3 and brings a redesigned interface with a translucent theme, new widgets, navigation tweaks, and camera improvements including dual-view video and better zoom.

Shipping updates ahead of schedule suggests Nothing's software team may have accelerated testing or wants to build goodwill with budget-line buyers who often wait longer for major updates. The broad rollout across four devices at once indicates the company is treating its mid-range lineup as a priority rather than an afterthought, which could strengthen its reputation for software support compared to other budget Android makers.
- Nothing OS 5.0 (Android 17) is now rolling out to Phone 3a, 3a Pro, 4a, and 4a Pro ahead of schedule.
