Power Rangers Will Live Once More, This Time on Disney+

The Power Rangers are ready to rise again. After multiple attempts to bring back the popular franchise over the past few years, Hasbro just struck a deal with Disney+ to make a new live-action version of the show from the showrunners of its very successful Percy Jackson series, Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz. The Wrap broke the news of the deal, which comes almost a year after a previous attempt to bring back the series failed at Netflix. And that reboot, of course, was after Lionsgate actually made a decent reboot for the big screen, but that too fizzled. What changed here, or how this version will be different from others, is unclear. The trade says that the series “will reinvent the franchise for a whole new generation of fans while delighting those who already know and love the world of Power Rangers.” It also can’t hurt that Steinberg and Shotz have two seasons and counting of another hit fantasy action show on the streamer.
