Apple has just released iPadOS 26 beta 4 to developers. Today’s release will likely also be the build that gets shipped as the public beta soon. Here’s what to expect.
Beta 4 arrives ahead of expected iPadOS 26 public beta
Just over two weeks ago, Apple shipped iPadOS 26 beta 3 with a variety of changes and improvements.
Following its current biweekly release pattern, iPadOS 26 beta 4 is now here at about the time we expected.
This release should provide the most stable version of the iPad’s new software to date.
It’s also widely expected to become the first iPadOS 26 public beta.
Apple has said that the public beta will arrive in July, and Mark Gurman believes it’s coming this week—as early as tomorrow.
We are still early enough into the beta cycle that today’s update should offer more changes and feature enhancements based on developer feedback.
As we get into August, Apple will likely focus more on stability and bug fixes in advance of the wide September launch.
Based on prior years’ pattern, we should also start getting beta releases more frequently next month. Apple tends to shift to weekly releases rather than biweekly as September approaches.
