Legendary actor John Malkovich (Burn After Reading, Rounders) has been confirmed as a guest star in “Prodigies”, an upcoming seven-episode Apple TV+ series also featuring Ayo Edebiri (The Bear, Inside Out 2). Here are the details Apple first announced Prodigies in April, a new comedy created by Will Sharpe (The White Lotus, A Real Pain), and featuring Edebiri, who’s also executive producer. Here’s Apple’s description of the show: This unusual take on a classic romantic comedy explores the universal complexities of long-term relationships through the lens of a very unique couple. Didi (Edebiri) and Ren (Sharpe) are two ex-child prodigies who have been together since they were children. Now in their early 30s, they are starting to question whether their very ordinary existence is living up to the extraordinary promise of their childhood. Inevitably, they find themselves asking the same questions of their relationship. As individual hopes and needs feed into and conflict with their shared lives, the series challenges the fallacy at the heart of romantic storytelling — that the tale is over when the heroes get together. In life, surely, that is just the beginning? Now, as reported by Variety, Malkovich has just been added to the growing notable cast, which already included Tobias Menzies (F1: The Movie), Sophia Di Martino (Loki), and Andrene Ward-Hammond (Your Honor), among others. Currently, there is no information on when to expect Prodigies, but given the cast and premise, it’s shaping up to be a good one. Apple TV+ is available for $9.99 per month and features hit TV shows and movies like Ted Lasso, Severance, The Studio, The Morning Show, Shrinking and Silo. Apple Watch deals on Amazon
