Zelle is Down. What We Know About the Payment Service's Outage

Zelle is experiencing an outage affecting the ability of users to send money transfers through their banks. There were 772 reports of the digital payment service's network being down as of 1:56 p.m. ET Friday, according to data from Downdetector. (Downdetector is owned by Ziff Davis, the same parent company as CNET.)
A Zelle spokesperson responded in a statement and told CNET that the situation involves a third-party provider.
"We are aware that certain Zelle users at some financial institutions are not able to use Zelle at this time," the statement said. "We are working diligently with our partners to resolve this matter as soon as we can. Zelle users may see transactions marked as 'payment pending' in the meantime."
