TL;DR The Pixel 10 is getting a new feature called Auto Best Take. The feature automatically finds and combines similar photos into one where everybody looks their best. The Add Me feature has also been improved to add the photographer to even bigger groups. Sometimes things happen when attempting to take a group photo, whether it’s someone getting distracted and looking the other way or another person sneezing right before the shutter closes. In 2023, Google rolled out a Pixel feature called Best Take to handle situations like these. Now the company has further improved that feature and is rolling it out to the Pixel 10 series. If you’re unfamiliar with Best Take, it’s an AI-powered tool designed to ensure everyone in your picture always looks their best. Best Take takes multiple successive photos of groups and locates the perfect faces for each person in these photos. The user can then select which facial expressions they want each person in the photo to have. Best Take then merges these elements into one photo to provide the result you’re looking for. Auto Best Take For the Pixel 10 series, Google is rolling out an improved version of this feature called Auto Best Take. Just like before, it finds and combines similar photos into one where everyone has their desired look. However, Auto Best Take is able to automatically recognize when you’re taking a group photo. It then activates and analyzes up to 150 photos, looking for moments when each person looks just right. When the AI finds a suitable alternative, it blends that alternative into the image, creating the perfect photo. In addition to Auto Best Take, Google has also improved the Add Me feature. As a quick refresher, Add Me allows the photographer to insert themselves into a group photo. The new and improved version of Add Me allows the photographer to be added to even bigger group photos.
