ANBERNIC revealed its RG DS Plus handheld in a YouTube video, showing dual 4.3-inch screens, a free-stop hinge, and a capacitive stylus that stores in an integrated slot like the original Nintendo DS. The device runs Linux rather than Android and will ship with a new custom DS emulator called NNDDSS, which supports screen swapping, touch input, save states, microphone use, and over 70 shader options.
ANBERNIC has launched its RG 55G1 handheld gaming device, which closely mimics the design of the Nintendo Switch Lite. The base 4GB/64GB model is priced at $149.99, with an early-bird discount bringing it to $139.99, while the 8GB/128GB version costs $174.99 or $164.99 during the promotional window.
Anbernic will begin selling its RG 55G1 retro gaming handheld on August 31 at 6AM ET, starting at $150. The device closely resembles Nintendo's Switch Lite in shape but runs Android 14 with a Snapdragon G1 Gen 2 chip, marking Anbernic's first use of Qualcomm silicon, and is built for emulating consoles up to PS2 or Wii.
Anbernic released an unboxing video for its upcoming RG 55G1 handheld, confirming a Snapdragon G1 Gen 2 chip, Adreno A12 GPU, 4GB/8GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage options, a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS display, and Android 14. The device will ship in Indigo, Retro Gray, and Black, with a 6,000mAh battery, 18W charging, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, and wireless TV casting support.
