James Dyson introduced the Dyson CameraJet in Paris, a toothbrush equipped with a 100k pixel macro lens camera and machine learning that detects gaps between teeth in real time. The device uses this data to fire precision jets of mouthrinse into those gaps while also brushing with variable sonic oscillation designed to keep bristles moving against tooth surfaces.
Dyson has unveiled its first oral care device, the CameraJet toothbrush, which uses an onboard camera scanning teeth 28 times per second to detect debris and spray targeted mouthrinse to clean between them. Priced at $499, it requires a proprietary nonfoaming toothpaste and will launch in September through Sephora, Best Buy and Amazon. Founder James Dyson said the six-year project stemmed from frustration with dental visits rather than any market analysis.
