Mozilla announced it will turn on JPEG XL decoding by default across all Firefox platforms starting with version 157, using its Rust-based jxl-rs decoder. The feature has been available as an opt-in Labs setting since Firefox 152 and behind a hidden preference since earlier releases, and now gains multithreaded decoding to match performance with Safari's implementation.
A developer created a workaround that adds rollback functionality to Flyway's free Community Edition, which normally reserves database migration undo capability for paying Teams subscribers. The trick treats every rollback as a forward migration: instead of reversing an applied migration, the tool writes a new, higher-numbered migration containing the reverse SQL, then cleans up Flyway's schema history table so the recorded state matches the database and files on disk. The implementation relies entirely on standard Flyway commands rather than direct SQL execution against the database.
Anthropic announced it is merging the memory systems behind Claude's chat interface and its Cowork agent product, so information learned in one context carries over to the other.
