Samsung has enabled Horizontal Lock, a video stabilization feature originally exclusive to the Galaxy S26 series, on the Galaxy S25 through One UI 9 Beta 1. The feature uses gyroscope data and cropping to keep recorded footage level even as the phone is rotated or flipped during recording. The beta, which also brings Android 17, has begun rolling out in South Korea, the UK, and India.
Anthropic has launched Fable 5.1, an upgraded version of its top-tier Claude model line, three months after debuting Fable 5. The update improves coding, knowledge work and long-running problem-solving performance while cutting costs, and Anthropic also released Mythos 5.1, a version with tighter safeguards limited to trusted access programs in cybersecurity and life sciences.

A new open-source tool called slotstream enables Apple Silicon Macs to run the 104GB Qwen3.8-Flash-Next language model even when the machine doesn't have enough RAM to hold it, by streaming weights from disk and dynamically sizing memory use, down to an 8.1GB floor. On a 48GB Mac it delivers about 12 tokens per second in warm decode with a roughly 3-second cold start, capping memory use at 32GB so the rest of the system stays usable. It requires macOS 14+, Apple Silicon, and about 110GB of free disk space for the one-time weight download.
A new free interactive map called Movie Scene Map lets users browse 15,535 real-world filming locations tied to 9,262 films and TV series, plus 2,153 video games, 407 anime and 366 manga placed according to their fictional settings. Users can click points on the map for photos and production details, or view dedicated pages for cities, countries and individual titles. The dataset is built from Wikidata filming-location statements, Wikimedia Commons photos and Wikipedia articles, with location data clearly labeled by source and confidence level.
