Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’ Was Made with Trust and Collaboration

Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein was featured at the Toronto International Film Festival, leading to plenty of interviews from the director and leading men Oscar Isaac and Jacob Elordi. In a recent discussion with the Ankler, the trio talked about the film’s production, which included more talk about Elordi’s creature performance. Del Toro has previously talked about Elordi’s “staggeringly beautiful” rendition of the monster, which came from months of studying child development stages, Mary Sh

College student’s “time travel” AI experiment accidentally outputs real 1834 history

A hobbyist developer building AI language models that speak Victorian-era English "just for fun" got an unexpected history lesson this week when his latest creation mentioned real protests from 1834 London—events the developer didn't know had actually happened until he Googled them. And then there’s make-up artist Mike Hill and the actor under that make-up, Jacob Elordi, who you see above in the first official image

Lorde’s new CD is so transparent that stereos can’t even read it

Lorde fans are clearly struggling to play the CD version of her new album. Customers who purchased the special edition of Virgin released on a transparent plastic disc are reporting on Reddit and TikTok that many CD players, car stereos, and other sound systems they’ve tried are unable to play it. The transparent CD, promoted as being fully recyclable, is currently sold out on Lorde’s webstore and was the only disc variant available for the Virgin album. That may have been a welcome compromise
