The First Look at DC’s Lanterns Show Is Unexpectedly Grounded

When you think of Green Lantern you think of, well, green. You think of magic rings. You think of skintight suits, people flying through space, and maybe some big, giant, hammer or something. What you don’t think of is the first image James Gunn just revealed from DC’s upcoming show, Lanterns: Two dudes, standing on the street, looking like hell. And almost no green at all. Lanterns, created by Chris Mundy (Ozark), Damon Lindelof (Lost, Watchmen, Leftovers), and Tom King (Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow) stars Aaron Pierre (Rebel Ridge) as John Stewart and Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights) as Hal Jordan. Though they’re members of the intergalactic law enforcement agency know as the Green Lantern Corps, the show will follow Stewart and Chandler investigating something on Earth, hence the looks here.
