If you’ve ever wanted to use Affinity Photo 2, Affinity Publisher 2, and Affinity Designer 2 on your iPad, but never got around to buying them, now’s your chance. These three apps are now free, but that may be short-lived. Here’s why. New apps may be presented on October 30 If you visit Affinity’s website, you’ll notice they’re heavily promoting an October 30 event, and have all but eliminated any reference to its suite of apps. The website reads: “Creative Freedom Is Coming. Sign up to be the first to know. True creative freedom is just around the corner. October 30. SEE THE FUTURE FIRST” While there are no concrete details about what the Canva-owned team will actually present on October 30, it is looking increasingly likely that Serif will completely revamp its suite of apps. First, because they have delisted their apps from the Mac App Store. Second, because you can now get Affinity Photo 2, Affinity Publisher 2, and Affinity Designer 2 for free on the iPad, whereas they used to cost $18.49 apiece after a 7-day trial. There are no guarantees that the iPad apps will remain listed for much longer, nor that they will keep working following the October 30 event. But if you’ve always wanted to take these apps for a spin for longer than a week, this may be your last chance. What do you think Serif will announce later this month? Let us know in the comments.
